Why Doesn’t the Mood Rotate?
I know this may be a silly question, but how come the moon never rotates on it’s own axis? From everything I’ve ever learned about heavenly bodies, they all rotate on their own axis and revolve around a larger body. All of Jupiter’s moons rotate.
Just think about it. You always see “the man in the moon”. Always. What’s on the other side, and how come we never see it. Also, with the size of our moon and how close it is, how come we don’t wind up colliding with it due to massive gravitational forces?
Anyone have any answers? So far, all I’ve been told is that it’s hollow and a landing spot for aliens. Anything that involve physics would be appreciated.
Thanks!

because the Moon’s rotation and revolution speeds are synchronized.
1 moon rotation = 1 moon orbit around the Earth
